  • Podcast: First Scuderi Engine Prototype Assembled

    February 9, 2009 – After several years of extensive research, development, and patent preparation, the Scuderi Group announced today the assembly of the proof-of-concept prototype for its Scuderi Split-Cycle Engine. The highly anticipated prototype will undergo further testing and analysis and will be officially unveiled to the automotive industry April 20 at the 2009 SAE World Congress in Detroit.   • SAE Day Three: The Beat Goes On.

    Attendees of the Society of Automotive Engineers’ World Congress 09 continued to stream through the Scuderi booth to get a glimpse of the first prototype of the Scuderi Engine. Meanwhile, the Scuderi engineering team was meeting with local OEMs in the Detroit area to give technological updates on the engine’s development.As more updates are given to the OEMs, they continue to be impressed by the engine’s capabilities in achieving greater fuel efficiency and emissions controls than any of the conventional engines on the road today.   • Talking business

    This week Scuderi Group hosted about 20 international business school professors at the engine’s research and development facility, Southwest Research Institute, in San Antonio, TX.  The professors are in town participating in the Academy of Management convention, the largest annual gathering of management scholars in the world. Attended by more than 10,000 people, the meeting provides a forum for sharing research and expertise in all management disciplines.  So with the developments and interest around the Scuderi Engine increasing, the academic community is taking notice.   • Update from Japan

    The tragic events in Japan over the last five days have hit close to home for us here at Scuderi Group.  Our Nagoya office is in tact and our colleague, Deryk Langlais, and his family were unharmed in the earthquakes and -- as of today -- unaffected by the latest nuclear developments. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of the region, especially our friends and colleagues at Honda Motor Corp. in Tochigi, which suffered serious damage.   • A boost for efficiency

    In the United States Tuesday, the Obama administration issued new rules requiring automakers to drastically improve vehicle fuel efficiency.  The new standards will require an average fuel economy of 54.5 miles per gallon for the 2025 model year. Current rules for the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) program mandate at 35.5 mpg by 2016. Read more about "A boost for efficiency"...

  • The engine is Tokyo's Big Sight

    It was another promotional first this week for Scuderi Group as we landed in Japan to take part in the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show (TMS).  This was the first time Japanese media and the nation’s engineering community got a chance to see and touch the cutaway prototype model of the running Scuderi Engine.     The Scuderi Group is committed to continuously increasing the strength of its patent portfolio by investing in independent research and development dedicated to advancing the Scuderi Split-Cycle Engine technology. Scuderi Group has a growing number of invention disclosures which are each filed as international patent applications. Each separate disclosure eventually matures into approximately 2 or more patents in each of about 50 countries. Every Scuderi Group patent application is subjected to an extensive series of worldwide patentability searches.
